Beyond Motherhood Returns: When the Story of Motherhood Begins Not Only with a Role, but with the Woman Herself

Beyond Motherhood Returns: When the Story of Motherhood Begins Not Only with a Role, but with the Woman Herself

What is it that quietly stays with us from our mothers throughout the journey of growing up? It may be a way of loving that never needed to be spoken aloud, a life principle passed down through the years, an invisible expectation that once weighed heavily on us, or simply a quiet resilience that shaped the way we step into life.

After two years, Beyond Motherhood officially returns, continuing a conversation that once resonated deeply with many emotions, this time with a perspective that feels more mature, more layered, and more closely aligned with the realities of the modern woman. Taking place on 20 May 2026 at Pullman Saigon Centre, Beyond Motherhood is far more than an event for mothers. It is a space for dialogue created for women who simultaneously inhabit multiple roles: daughter, mother, partner, leader, the emotional anchor of a family, and sometimes, someone still trying to hold on to her own sense of self amidst all of them.

Beyond Motherhood

When motherhood is no longer only about raising children

Modern society often places a uniquely demanding set of expectations on women. Professional success may be admired, yet somehow it rarely feels sufficient unless a woman is also a devoted mother, a dependable wife, emotionally present, endlessly graceful, and always in control of her feelings.

There are pressures that are never explicitly named, and forms of exhaustion that are carefully concealed.

There are also questions many mothers have never truly had the opportunity to voice. Am I being too strict because I am unconsciously repeating the way my own mother raised me? Has my success become a source of pressure for my child? How do I love my children without losing my own identity in the process? And perhaps most importantly, is a woman allowed to be imperfect?

Beyond Motherhood 2026 is built around precisely these questions.

Rather than offering formulaic answers to motherhood, the programme opens up a multi-layered conversation around memory, expectation, intergenerational pressure, and the emotional evolution of women, not only in their role as mothers, but as independent individuals with their own thoughts, wounds, choices, and inner strength.

THE UNSAID: The things never spoken aloud

At the heart of the programme is THE UNSAID, a panel conversation where distinguished guests come together for an honest exchange about the truths rarely shared behind the image of a grown woman who appears to have everything in place. The session will be hosted by MC Thanh Thảo Hugo, a familiar and much-admired figure who embodies the image of the modern woman: intelligent, articulate, and deeply empathetic. The anticipated guest line-up represents different dimensions of both motherhood and womanhood:

  • Businesswoman Lê Ngọc Lam Quỳnh, representing women navigating the layered demands of leadership, family, and personal identity
  • Singer Bảo Anh (currently invited, pending confirmation), offering another perspective on motherhood through a lens that is intimate, honest, and reflective

More than a conversation about success, the programme ventures into spaces less frequently explored: imperfect moments, the tension between professional ambition and family life, disagreements across generations, the pressure to remain strong at all times, and the enduring question of how to raise children through love rather than expectation.

SCENT & SOUL: A pause to return to oneself

Following the panel conversation, guests will be invited into SCENT & SOUL, a more personal experience designed as a gentle pause from the rhythm of everyday life, allowing each participant to reconnect with herself through the language of scent. The aromatherapy roll-on blending experience is not positioned as a conventional wellness workshop, but rather as a quiet extension of the conversations that came before, a sensory moment of reflection after emotional depth.

Guests will also take part in THE UNSAID POSTCARD, a thoughtful activation inviting them to write what they have never said to their mother, what they hope their children may one day understand, or simply a message to the version of themselves that once tried so hard to hold everything together. Some truths only become clear when they are finally written down.

An afternoon to look inward

Beyond Motherhood does not attempt to prescribe what motherhood should look like, because no perfect template exists for such a deeply human journey. What the programme hopes to create is a space refined enough for women to be honest with themselves. To reflect on how they were nurtured. To understand why they love the way they do today. And to remember that behind every role they perform, they remain women worthy of being seen in the fullness of who they are.
