What was your mindset when joining the “Undress to Empower” campaign? What inspired you to accompany a community-based health initiative like this?

Lưu Hằng chose to accompany a health-centred initiative because I believe that regardless of whether we have a fulfilling career or are still finding our way, the foundation of everything is health. When both our body and spirit are well, only then can we pursue our passions, develop our careers, and share positive energy with those around us. Personally, I find that those who have been through health challenges understand more deeply the importance of self-care, not just physically, but emotionally too. That’s why this campaign is so meaningful to me, especially as the Pink Ribbon Campaign focuses on breast cancer patients – women who are courageously facing one of life’s most difficult journeys. I feel a strong need to be present, to stand in solidarity, and to contribute positive, loving energy that honours our bodies and to help spread this spirit among women everywhere.

Lưu Hằng

As the founder of a fashion brand, how do you perceive the link between “beauty” and “health”? How can fashion play a role in healing for women battling breast cancer?

To me, beauty and health are deeply interconnected – health is the root and beauty is the flower that blooms from it. A woman with good health and a strong spirit naturally radiates charm and positive energy. This beauty isn’t merely superficial, it’s the glow in her eyes, the calm in her presence and the harmony within. I’ve always believed that inner energy is what truly defines beauty. When we nurture positive thoughts and learn to love ourselves, even amidst illness, a woman can still shine with strength and grace. On a different note, fashion especially elegant, high-quality materials, can also be part of the healing process. When a woman wears something that makes her feel confident and cherished, that moment becomes a gentle act of healing through beauty. This is exactly what Hangsilk aspires to offer, helping women feel whole, radiant, and fall in love with themselves again.

Have you personally had any memorable experiences related to women’s health, screening, or connecting with women who have faced illness?

Lately, I’ve been spending more time listening to and taking care of myself, because I’ve come to realise that it’s truly the foundation of everything. A close family member who also happens to be a cherished team member at Hangsilk, was recently diagnosed with cancer. That moment shook me and brought a deep awakening. I understood then that all our work and dreams only hold meaning when we are healthy. Since then, I’ve committed to regular health screenings and learned to treasure every peaceful moment. What I admire most is how she continues to face her illness with a cheerful, upbeat spirit and radiant energy. Her positivity reminded me that belief in life and love itself can also be a form of healing.

With Hangsilk being a premium fabric brand, what are your priorities when it comes to sustainable development and social values?

Lưu Hằng think we all, at some point, get so caught up in work and life that we neglect self-care. But I always remind myself of this one very real truth: “As long as you’re still breathing, there’s still hope”. Health is irreplaceable, so just by setting aside a little time each year for screenings and to truly listen to our bodies, we are already protecting not only ourselves but those we love. And if we’re facing a health issue, we must double our love and care for ourselves. Because once we begin to understand and appreciate ourselves, everything around us also becomes more whole and beautiful.

“I believe that a woman who understands herself, loves herself and lives positively… is just like a piece of silk – gentle to embrace, and resilient to overcome”

If Lưu Hằng could choose a fabric or motif to represent the spirit of “Undress to Empower”, what would you choose and why?

If I were to choose a material to symbolise the “Undress to Empower” spirit, it would be silk. Silk is soft and gentle, yet resilient and enduring, even under the sun or wind, it retains its unique beauty. Just like a woman, silk carries within it the energy of nature, the craftsmanship of skilled artisans, and a powerful essence: soft but not weak, tender yet full of strength.

What message would you like to send to women currently undergoing screening or treatment for breast cancer? As a woman, a mother and a founder, what helps you maintain your positive energy in life?

What helps me sustain positive energy is my sense of responsibility to myself, to my family and to society. I constantly remind myself to love, listen to, and understand who I am and not let negativity take hold. When I have health and good energy, I have the time and capacity to love, to lead my team, and to contribute more to the community.

Finally, through this programme, what would you most like the public to remember – about Hangsilk, and about you as Lưu Hằng?

The message I’d love to leave with everyone is this: learn to appreciate yourself and to see beauty in a deeper way. Above all, it’s about coming back to your true self because a woman is at her most beautiful when she remains grounded, resilient, and calm in the face of life’s uncertainties. Life will always bring challenges, but how we face them – that’s what shapes our real value.
